1 Year of Let's Go Deep

On the 21st of March 2009 we launched Let's Go Deep Sessions and it has been going and growing from strength to strength. We have been struggling to put it together every month and have as a result skipped months due to matters of venues and budgets.

But the struggle continues and we hope to grow with time. Let's Go Deep has never made a cent. But the passion of music has kept us going and we will go on. So on the 19th of March we will be celebrating a on our first of two events in Soshanguve. Drum Rock Cafe will be the place for the event. Then on the 21st we will be in Mabopane at Dinoko Park.

We split the giggs to try accommodate every DJ we've had on the sessions. Although we couldn't have everyone, we've managed to get most of them on the line up. DJ's Joshua Mokoena, Sol-G Mooka and Lady Nhlaka who were on our line up are on the Anniversary line up. Other guys who we've been with us and are also joining us include Scotch Flavio, Tsala, Lady B, Bakang Kgaswane, Putzie Katto and Soldiers of House (Jakes @ Large, Frana Basement & Lebzito).

So it is a blessing to have them all here. Our goal of going places may be achieved.

Keep it Deep for the Soul
Di-Franzo

Let's Go Deep Sessions

Di-Franzo Entertainment, in association with RTM Entertainment, started this project in January 2009 in Johannesburg. The first sessions was hosted and launched in Newtown three months later at Bassline. The objective of the project was to promote the sound of Deep and Soulful House music.

The project has grown and the objectives are more than just promoting the sound. As a DJ and a person who has been in the music industry for over 10 years, I have found that DJ's are doing almost the same thing and thought we should look more for development and encourage more creativity in the sound.

Since then the project has now focused also on bringing in young DJ's and giving them exposure. This also gives them an opportunity to work with established DJ's. It also helps them to work with performing artists from dancers, instrumentalists to poets and more, which is our goal. In the future sessions we would try our best to collaborate with other sessions and grow with them in the process.

We have so far worked with some of the finest on the decks. To name a few we have featured DJ's Josh (Spiritual Deep Sessions), Scotch Flavio (Spiritual Deep Sessions), Styke (5/15 Production), M-Syde (Raw Spirit), Sol-G (Raw Spirit), Lady Nhlaka, Jakes @ Large (Soldiers of House), Lebzito (Soldiers of House), Frana (Soldiers of House), Bakang, Tsala, Phumlani Ngobeni, Putzie Katto and a few others.

We have worked with productions such as Black Juice Entertainment, Raw Spirit, Soldiers of House

In 2010 we home to cement our relationships with our partners and build new ones in the process.

Our aim is to promote local Deep and Soulful productions among our audience. We also aim to have an album released digitally with local productions and have so far heard good material from Soldiers of House and Scotch Flavio. And there is plenty more good unreleased tracks from other producers.

So keep you ears on the ground and eyes on the ball because we are going DEEEEP
